The thing that set me apart on Project Runway, and the thing that led the judges to choose me as a winner, was my ability to make impact through color and shape. There were judging sessions where every other designer was dressed in black and showed garments in black, and I would be up there dressed in yellow and pink showing a garment that popped off the runway. When you want to make impact, you need people’s attention. My work is designed to make an immediate visual impact, and then to draw curiosity through embellishment and humor, so that people ask questions and learn things by observing and interacting with my clothing.
